So we've all heard that the magazine industry is going the way of the dodo bird (which is a hilarious expression if I've ever heard one). Which is why I was intrigued when a friend alerted me to a new Time Inc. venture, "Mine," which they're calling a "custom magazine."

Here's how it works: you choose five magazines out of the eight choices they offer, then the editors pull content from each and deliver a customized magazine to your mailbox or inbox every two weeks. This concept is still in beta, so the introductory offer is for five issues. The best part? It's FREE!
