I'm in need of some help today, friends. I really want to make a few sets of curtains, but I'm stymied on the whole fabric purchasing situation. I don't even know what I want, exactly, but I do know that JoAnn doesn't have it and that I'm not sure where else to look. Where do y'all go when you need stylish, reasonably priced fabric?
Go to Mill Outlet Village on Capital Blvd! It's a bit of a drive for you, but they have A TON of fabric selections.
ReplyDeleteSometimes Flea Markets have great prices on all kinds of quality fabrics. Also, check Calico Corners or Waverly. Beautiful prints...not so cheap though. You can also check YELP for privately-owned fabric shops which ALWAYS have the best selections.
ReplyDeleteAnother option in Raleigh is Printer's Alley. You will love both it and Mill Outlet Village Meghan mentioned.

ReplyDeleteI've found some really really cute fabric from HartsFabric. They're based somewhere in California, but I got great service from them overall. However, they were not very up to date with tagging out of stock items. So, it might be a good idea to call and check before you order something. Other than that, they were really awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlso, Mood (of Project Runway fame) literally. has. everything. I needed lavender and white seersucker--they had it. I've been in person when I did my high school thesis and they were REALLY great and helpful. They can send you swatches if you can describe what you're looking for and then you can order once you've picked it out.
